Recently, Thorn Tree´s Thread Of The Day centered on the northern Lao PDR town of Luang Prabang and its experience with the flood of tourism (The discussion references this New York Times article). I want to remember our time in Luang Prabang for the baguette sammies, beefy noodle soup, crepes with butter, sugar and sweetened condensed milk, and searching for a ball cap in the cool-ass market, but I have to admit I´m still a little bitter about other elements. Both links add color to our experience there.
