Curious how we spend our time?
10% Shopping
Half of this time is easily spent at book stores, which has been a surprise to both us and our budget. Although costly, a good book while traveling can feel priceless...so we're naturally always on the lookout. In hindsight, I feel a bit dumb not planning for this in our budget, but it's not something our past shorter trips prepared us for.
The other time is spent looking for "American" toiletries and cool cheap clothes.
20% Internetting (Travel Homework + Email + Budgeting)
Majority of this time is spent doing travel homework. By homework, I mean looking up accommodations and travel routes; booking flights or trains and updating our travel blog. Contrary to what many people think, this trip was not completely planned before we left. We plan each leg at a time. Right now, we're planning our 'Islands' leg...Bali, Tahiti and Easter Island.
The other time is spent checking in with family and friends or for Lee, checking who is performing at Black Cat or 9:30 Club...even though he isn't there to enjoy it.
